Some suggestions and concerns of mine.
Suggestion and Concern.
Hello,
I'm a Administrator for a forum similar to this, and I have some suggestions on what you could do to improve your forum.
A Concern Of Mine:
While look around, I have developed some concern on your Moderator system. Though, your "picking from helpful users" does involve users and encourage some mere activeness, it is also - in my opinon. Very discouraging and unfair to others: Such as, someone who has been trying to contribute and gain the role for a year - verses someone who has been trying for a week and is promoted. This automaticly discourages others, which could result in drama. Another case is that they are just doing it for the rank, which even happens with very elabrate systems.
On this "issue", I want to add a suggestion to your system: A simple user-based election, the users have some requirement to meet and when it is open they can apply. Then it gets handed over to the staff to decide who gets their application to public eye: Then it gets put in the users hands. There is problems that could arise with this as well, but I would say that it is alot less risky then your current system.
