Hey! Thanks for tuning in.

Me and the staff team have been discussing some updates we could add for Entertainment purposes. We pit it on hold for awhile and played a game of Mafia. Then it came to us, and we knew what we were going to add.

That's right, folks. Mafia!

History / Updates

Thank you for your patience since the first version of Alpha came out. Updates will be coming out this week.

Artists ~ We will have Artists, since we have many talented artists on Facediary. You can apply to be a Artist which means you can have the ability to open commissions (It can be Free of Charge, Trading for some of their posts (maximum of 100.) Or paypal.)

Writers ~ Writers, since we have so many talented writers on Facediary. You can apply to be a Writer which also means you have the ability to open commissions.

Content Artists ~ Content Artists have the same abilities as Artists, you can apply for the position. Content Artists is a voluntary position - They may be asked at any time by a staff member to create a piece of art for the website.

Artists and Content Artists will be the first to be implemented - Staff can apply for these.

Commision pieces will be used for profile pictures, signatures, profiles, stories. (Profiles also will be implemented as a thread.)

History / Removing Leadership Postions and Adding new ones

We have decided to remove the current Leadership positions (otherwise known as Helper groups) and replace them with much more clean ones.

We have removed the:
- Facediary Welcoming Committee
- Helpers / Semi Moderators
- Fang's Helpers

And made the Facediary Welcoming Committee the new "Community Counselors" but different from the previous system we have had. :)

Community Counselors
The Community Counselors will now be the new Moderators, every few years, or when they are needed, we will hold applications and accept 1-3 of the users that apply, they will have Moderator permissions on the forum.

What will happen to the current FWC that are not CC's?
They will be removed from the position.

Hello, Facediary!

Congratulations on 1000 posts! Because of us hitting this milestone, I have decided to go over flashbacks of the memories we have made as a community, first off, let's go right to the start of the Community.

Start of a Community
Facediary was created on wix.com, a simple and free website host, thanks to the original owner: purplewolves, it took a few weeks of advertisement to get the first few users on: Octopuppy and Liquidatrous. Then a few days later, Bluestar2 and many others joined. It was the start of a community, at first, everything was simple and easy. Purplewolves hosted her first staff applications and as they went live her and Octopuppy found themselves deciding out of the maturity of users who they would pick. The first staff to be appointed by this system was Liqudatrous.

FPS

Later on, new staff were appointed: Bluestar2, and Sealdog, Sealdog decided that it was time for acknowledgement to their users, he announced that they were accepting Applications to be a Front Page Suggester, where a user of Facediary would be chosen to pick out blog posts and forum posts within their requirements to be on the front page. A list of FPS’s inculds:
Sparklilly, Sealdog, and, Bumblebee. This system was however deemed unsuccessful and deleted afew months later, Facediary apologized to the future FPS’s

Facediary Headquarters
Once Facediary grew, purplewolves decided that her staff needed to be paid for their contributions to Facediary, she released new staff applications in a job section where you could apply for a full paying job, where you would work at the Headquarters.

Semi-Moderators, Chat Moderators, and, Community Leaders
Bluestar2 having been given the rights to the website as the new Owner decided that it was time that they needed user leadership within the community, with the new Chat system that was implemented, if you helped in the chat continually you would be made a Moderator. They also decided that they needed a Semi-Moderator rank where if you helped around Facediary and engaged yourself in the community you could be given a leadership role as a Semi-Moderator, if these users decided to apply for a staff position one day they would have a increased chance of becoming one. They also made a Community Leaders system, which was like your normal house captain, Facediary would hold an election every year for new CL’s and they would choose four. All these systems were still a thing when the website was deleted early in 2018. Here is a list of all the users who were given this opportunity:
Liqudatrous, Sparklilly, Bumblebee, and a unknown user. (Community Leaders for 2018)
Sparklilly and Bumblebee (Semi-Moderators)
Sparklilly and Fallenstardust (Chat Moderators)

The Administrators accounts being hacked
The Administrators accounts were hacked, including Bluestar2’s where they all had to try and get them out of their accounts whatever was in there and take a break which then many users started helping around the community.

Rank Changes
Rank changes were made from the normal Moderator, Background Engineer, Administrator, Team Leader, Developer, Helper, and Global Moderator, to Artist, Moderator and Administrator this also removed the system that the Moderators would be paid for their contributions and it was a free uncharged volunteer position. This brought in a team of new Artists:
Fang (Later to be the Owner)
Littlespark (Later a Moderator)
Seasonal (Later a Moderator)
Seaglimmer (Later a Administrator)
Orcasfangs (Later a Moderator)

A new wiki and forum
Sealdog decided it was time for a wiki, she created it but it was inactive and taken down once again, and then Fang (A Administrator at the time) made the current forum and everyone moved to that, and when he was granted Owner rights, and decided that the old website would be deleted since no one seemed to be using it anymore.

Selecting staff
Only afew of the staff from the old website created an account on the forum, so, Fang new he needed new staff, he appointed Celestialaska and after awhile he noticed activity from a user name Queen Luna (LunaLaomi) who made a application to be an Artist and was accepted! She was a Artist for a short period of time then skipped Moderator to Administrator, at this time the staff who had created an account from the old website were: Sealdog, Bluestar2, Fang, Seasonal, and, Seaglimmer.

JustADream
JustADream was a user who came from the old website to the new forum, she was a close friend to Fang, and always helped the community, when Facediary was needed a new staff member after Seaglimmer retired permanently, Fang promoted her straight to a administrator.

Many new users to the forum decided to make Staff Appreciation threads, to give the staff appreciation that they deserved here are some of them:

Community Counselors
Since the Staff team decided that all the leadership roles should be taken away along with the move, they decided to add it back thanks to a suggestion by Bluestar2 in a post on the Private board for staff:

“Do you remember how we had the Community Leaders? Couldn't we do that again? (I think that Community Counselors would be a better name)

Community Counselors are not Staff, they have been candidates for the permission before. They are expected to withhold the rules and reinforce them at any cost. They will be the closet to the staff and will always have the opportunity to say what they want to say on the Staff's opinions and choices.

They have authority over the regular members of Facediary and will spread news straight from the Staff and will be given a extra chance if they decide to apply for helper position.

Now, I want to talk about the Staff. I think we have way to many roles and way to many staff. We need to change some members of the staff team to background roles. I do not agree we need the old Admin, Artist and Moderator roles though I think all we need are Leaders, Curators, and Junior Curators. But unfortunately, we will have to remove some staff. My suggestions for that would be our two Senior Moderators and JustADream, they are very inactive and haven't helped in months.

I think that the staff need to step back from the community abit more, If we go ahead with the idea of Counselors, They need to be able to improve the community and not be drained of power from the Staff. I think that we only need about 10 staff members, since we came back the numbers have sky rocketed. That leads me to my next rant. We have a small community, and I think we are starting to forget that. A small community doesn't need about 30 staff. Nothing really happens anymore i'm afraid. Nothing has gone wrong. Also, Luna, I'm throwing you under the bus but we need you to be alot more stricter then you are with Staff Applications. We need quality.

SimplyObsessed, I feel like you are the correct person to have the final choice on the Staff Applications - After all you lead the team.

Back to the point of the Leader, Curator and Junior Curator thing. Everyone will be assigned a role as their rank. You may be a Leader and be assigned to being the IT person. like Simply you would be a Leader but you would be assigned the team leader job. Understand where I'm
heading?”

Which was implemented and purplewolves gave the permissions to the Junior Curator at the time: AstarForever, who was given the opportunity to lead the Community Counselors, The Community Counselor election involved 3 Users, only one of which was originally chosen: Brook, and then StarbornDawn, FaithisintheWater, Jayfeather894 and many others were added on. This is when they also decided to have houses and leadership roles within them.

Inactive staff removal
At the same time as the Community Counselor system was implemented, Astar was incharge of picking the most active staff to stay as a Moderator, many of the staff were deleted after this:
JustADream, Seasonal, Aquaila, Orcasfangs, Sealdog, Quantiscity, and, Octopuppy.
The staff who continued their position were:
Fang - Leader
LunaLaomi - Leader
Bluestar2 - Leader
SimplyObsessed - Leader
TempestFan - Curator
Clestialaska - Curator
AstarForever - Curator
Shadowella - Junior Curator

Houses
Houses were then implemented about a month later, which had much thought put in behind the scenes, the original idea was AstarForever’s but StarbornDawn designed the system and names:
“At my school, we have an awesome house system that I think we could implement into Facediary.
So, there is four houses (The names can be decided on later) and what would happen, if they would all have one House Captian and Deputy.
So, there will be two staff members in each house that oversee the houses, though, it is user-lead. You will be put into one of the four houses, and will be given the opportunity CC or just a normal member to run in the House Captian election, you will create a speech and one of the staff members from your house will put the speeches from their house up in a house board, which will have a poll. The staff members in your house will decide out of the most popular choices who will be House Captian and Deputy.
I think that there should be five boards, one for each house, and a united one where all the actives will happen. Instead of having a post count rank, they will have what house they're in. You can only access your houses board.
There will be house points given out, and at the end of the week you will be informed who won.
Names could include: Winterwater, Moonridge, Sealedge, Summerwood”
An election took place shortly after for House Captains and Deputies, at this time, only two houses were implemented: Moonridge and Sealedge because there was not enough users to be put in 4 houses, the users who were chosen were:
Sealedge
House Captain: Brook
Deputy: Fight for YOU
And in Moonridge
House Captain: StarbornDawn
Deputy: LunarGolden.
This system was quickly deleted because of inactivity.

A change in staff ranks
Fang and Astar decided the ranks Artist, Moderator and Administrator were outdated and unnecessary, and they were decided upon that they would be changed to Junior Curator, Curator, and, Leader, which was later replaced with the current system of, just Moderators thanks to a suggestion from Jayfeather894 here: https://facediaryforum.createaforum.com/history/possible-new-staff-ranks/

Bluestar2’s account getting hacked
Bluestar2 was an admin at the time this happened, there was an open report from a unbehaving user who will remain anonymous, who was banned previously by AstarForever, on the moderator comments on that particular report, Bluestar2 appears to be using abusive and potential harmful language, AstarForever and Bluestar2 get into a agrument where Bluestar uses hurtful language to back herself up. I have recived permission from Bluestar2 and Astar to show you this:

Bluestar2’s account was then banned later on, and Astar posted on the Private staff board this:

“So, if you don't know, earlier today Bluestar2 had to be banned because of her random abusive behavior...
Isn't it abit suspicious? I know for a fact Bluestar would NEVER do this, So, I had a chat with her on discord and this is the conversation we had:

Me:
Hey Bluestar, we had a a little incident with you, (I gave her a screen shot) Do you know about it?

Bluestar:
What? I would never do that! I am being 100% honest, I seriously did not do that.

Me:
I can't trust your word just yet we need to undergo a serious investigation before we can trust your word, even if it wasn't you.

Bluestar:
 I'm telling you now, it is a hacker. It has happened before to me.

Me:
I understand, but I can't say I'm sure on anything yet, Sorry Bluestar.


So, I have bait of investigation on who did this, I looked into it more, Its strange that yesterday she was giving advice and helping and all of a sudden she was acting so bitter. Seriously that wouldn't happen? I want your ideas, TempestFan will be a replacement for her for now.”

They came to conclusion that one of the previously banned members had hacked into her account to get their account unbanned and Bluestar2 was unbanned and given a 1 month punishment before they could become a Admin again.

Fang’s Helpers and Semi-Moderators
After Houses were deleted permanently, Fang made a new group to replace Community Counselors with that was called Fang’s Helpers (Or Freqcently known as Fang’s little elves: which was started by either FaithisintheWater or ★ LunarGolden ★ here: https://facediaryforum.createaforum.com/announcements/results-for-the-best-staff-of-the-year-poll!/ ) and also board Moderators were now a thing where if you helped Facediary alot, you could be invited to be a Semi-Moderator which meant you were a Moderator on a specific board. Here is a list of all the Semi-Moderators or as they were known then Helpers:
Brook, Jayfeather894, and, LunarGolden.

Warriors Roleplay hits 10 pages!
A roleplay made by AstarForever about the popular series Warriors, hits 10 pages which is to this day the longest/most pages a thread/roleplay has ever got to, with more then 10 characters (15) from the users: Brook, LunarGolden, Fang, AstarForever, Jayfeather894, StarbornDawn, Fading Star Light, and, TempestFan which is still semi-active here: https://facediaryforum.createaforum.com/roleplay/warrior-cat-roleplay/

A new way to pick staff
Thanks to a suggestion by LunarGolden here: https://facediaryforum.createaforum.com/history/new-way-to-appoint-new-staff/, a new way to pick new Moderators was implemented, where if you helped the community within the requirements consistiently and continusly caught a Administrators eye, you could be invited to be a Moderator, this system was quickly removed and changed to an election.

Fang’s April fools prank
On April fools, Fang decided to create an announcement that Facediary was going to be deleted and was acting very distraught about it, Fang then gave a link to a video in the gallary that he posted that was a troll song and said for them not to give it away and play along, some users played along when others gave it away: https://facediaryforum.createaforum.com/history/facediary-is-going-to-be-deleted/.

Facediary Welcoming Committee
Thanks to a suggestion by Jayfeather894, the FWC (Facediary Welcoming Committee) was created, a group of normal users and Moderators that have a mission to make sure every new user to Facediary gets a warm welcome to the community and to teach them the basics, Facediary Welcoming Committee Helpers are invited when they are needing new Members and they are asked to help with Welcoming some newer users to the forum, if they are successful they will become a Member of the Committee.

The Alpha version of Facediary had been released! The Administrators added many new features which you can see here: https://facediaryforum.createaforum.com/announcements/new-updates/

A History board
Thanks to a suggestion by LunarGolden here:
